Freeze My Margarita

Freeze My Margarita (1998)

Author: Lauren Henderson
Genre (and subgenre): Mystery (Amateur Detective)

Plot Summary:
Sam Jones is a sculptor of oversized mobiles who reacquaints herself with an old art school mate when he, clad in leather gear, approaches her in a fetish club. A set designer for a soon-to-be-staged production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the gay Sicilian Salvatore (Sally) convinces her to create mobiles for the play. Her new commission plunges Sam into the world of the theatre and its eccentric cast of characters, all with their own personal dramas. When a decomposing corpse is found in the theatre basement, and someone close to the production is found dead soon after, Sam suspects homicide and revs up her sleuthing skills. But it’s not all deadly. In no time Sam also finds a new lover in the flamboyant, but straight, actor, Hugo. As their relationship takes off, someone playing practical jokes threatens to further sabotage the play and Sam tries to connect and solve all the strange and deadly occurrences.
